I'm gonna wait till the world goes to bed And then I'll drain all these dreams from my head Splashing up against the bedroom walls Spilling over like a waterfall tonight King of the Nighttime King of the World King of the Nighttime King of the World I'll resign when I see the sun rise 'Cause it's a brilliant electrical spark That I can see like a cat in the dark See me sitting on a moon-lit throne All the universe is mine alone tonight King of the Nighttime King of the World King of the Nighttime King of the World I'll resign when I see the sun rise I will be purified I'll reconnect with myself And anybody who could bring me down Won't be around 'Cause it's a private place My time and space See me sitting on a moon-lit throne All the universe is mine alone tonight King of the Nighttime King of the World King of the Nighttime King of the World I'll resign when I see the sun rise

I just rolled up all the coins to pay the rent with I got nothing left to barter for the bills So I'm not waking up I'm not waking up next time I'm not waking up I'm not waking up next time I don't want to check the classifieds on Sunday I don't want to get another loser job So I'm not waking up I'm not waking up next time I'm not waking up I'm not waking up next time 'Cause I had a dream last night It said, "Everything is gonna be alright" I had a dream last night But it's over I got warnings piling up inside the mailbox I got angry messages on my machine So I'm not waking up I'm not waking up next time I'm not waking up I'm not waking up next time 'Cause I had a dream last night It said, "Everything is gonna be alright" I had a dream last night But it's over I'm not going to face this day Unless everything is gonna go my way 'Cause I had a dream last n

Where did the time go? How'd it slip away? There was a song on The radio today I could see my face on a Kodak screen In the sweet sunlight And everything Came to life... Turntable, turn around Take me to the place that I still dream about Turntable, turn around Take me to another place, I want to be surrounded by that sound I can remember How it used to be Feeling the breakers Rolling over me I can hear that song in a flashback dream And it sounds so right And everything Comes to life... Turntable, turn around Take me to the place that I still dream about Turntable, turn around Take me to another place, I want to be surrounded by that sound From the morning Till the sun goes down I wanna turn you around Because I need it Now I'm spellbound I wanna turn you around Now that I'm older I'm playing in a band Still I'm bewildered I still don't understand When the playback comes and the speakers boom And the room's alive How everything Comes to life... Turntable, turn around Take me to the place that I still dream about Turntable, turn around Take me to another place, I want to be surrounded by that sound

Gonna take a holiday Drive down to LA Buddy up with movie stars How pretty they are And all my friends who still survive Won't they be surprised They'll set me up with choice cocaine We'll piss it all down the drain, because Daddy's got money again Gonna go to India Stick a dot on my head Any color that I want Green, yellow, or red Gonna see the Taj Mahal I'll write my name on the wall I'll feed the poor along the way It's a red letter day, because Daddy's got money again And it's been a painful climb 'Cause it's been the longest time Gonna call my favorite girl Sweet mother of pearl And if I see she's still a B I'll spring for the D We're gonna jet to Vegas and We're gonna roll 'em again We'll double down the cheapie booze We got nothing to lose, because Daddy's got money again

Take It Over 04:35
There were fireworks and hammers raining over me There were parasites and demons at my heels Moving fast and moving slow Through a long scenario of movie reels, of movie reels I came crawling to the kingdom on my hands and knees Just a joker with a poker in my hand I surveyed the tricks and treats All the beauties and the beasts Across the land, across this land Woooo, now take it over Woooo, now take the wheel for just a while It's a crazy road as far as I can see 'Cause it doesn't really go from A to B Now I'm trying to find a made-to-order holy grail In the arbitrary nature of the ride But I'm crawling in the back 'Cause I need to take a nap For just a while, a good, long while Woooo, now take it over Woooo, now take the wheel for just a while It's a crazy road as far as I can see 'Cause it doesn't really go from A to B Woooo, now take it over Woooo, now take the wheel for just a while It's a crazy road as far as I'm aware 'Cause it doesn't really go from here to there

Wide Awake 02:50
All night you'll be wide awake Well, you're in control And you're in command You've got the beasties eating out Of the palm of your hand It's a massive load It's too much to take And all night you'll be wide awake Well, you wear the crown You sit on the throne And all the stars are realigning For you alone It's a massive load There's so much at stake And all night you'll be wide awake 'Cause it's all gone crazy And you just can't understand How it's so out of hand now Well, you're in control So take up the reins You've got a world below you Cracking under the strain And it's waiting on Every move that you make And all night you'll be wide awake

You've got pipe dreams Widescreen fantasies You're a long way gone But you don't mind You've got wild eyes Crazed and hypnotized You're a long way gone But you'll be fine When supernatural baby comes around When supernatural baby lays you down You'll be lost in that holy make believe It's alright, it's alright You play strange keys Half-baked masterpiece You're a long way gone But you'll be fine When supernatural baby comes around When supernatural baby lays you down You'll be lost in that holy make believe It's alright, it's alright I've seen bad days Jigsaw matinees I'm a long way gone But I'll be fine When supernatural baby comes around When supernatural baby lays you down You'll be lost in that holy make believe It's alright, it's alright When supernatural baby comes around When supernatural baby lays me down I'll be lost in that holy make believe It's alright, it's alright

Here I go, I'm boarding the plane It's always the same My heart is in pain Here we go, we're flying through the clouds Strangers around You can't cry out loud I wanna hijack the plane I wanna turn it around 'Cause I'm so sick and tired of saying goodbye And when I get back home, I'll stay by your side All I wanna do is pretend The plane's gonna land In the place it began All I wanna do is go home The people below Have more than they know I wanna jump off the wing I wanna land in your arms 'Cause I'm so sick and tired of saying goodbye And when I get back home, I'll stay by your side Fly me backwards My destination is wrong Carry me where I belong this time Tell the captain to land 'Cause I've made up my mind 'Cause I'm so sick and tired of saying goodbye And when I get back home, I'll stay by your side

Solar Sister 03:51
And so you came to the Wrecking Ball Broken down for sure An eerie sound like a siren call Led you to the door And all the tiles on the mirror ball Reflected tired eyes But just ahead up against the wall She lights that flame You call her name Solar Sister, please, I just wanna blow this dive Solar Sister, please, I wanna get out alive So lead the way before me Slip me out the back and shine a light You move your way through the ghostly scene The crowd too dead to dance And you can see now you've always been Caught up in their trance You lift your head from an empty glass And look around the room But could it be now your moment's passed The jukebox soon Will play that tune Solar Sister, please, I just wanna blow this dive Solar Sister, please, I wanna get out alive So lead the way before me Slip me out the back and shine a light 'Cause I've been asking for it Delving into every kind of vice So lift me out before it Turns me into something I despise Solar Sister, please, I just wanna blow this dive Solar Sister, please, I wanna get out alive So lead the way before me Slip me out the back and shine a light

Vaporland 04:05
Somewhere remote and far away A house of cards begins to sway A matador has lost his cape Looks around for an escape Now the street where you stand Crumbles into the sand Of Vaporland A stranger comes to you tonight A supervillain dressed in white No air control can find the plane Once you've handed him the reins All the roots in the ground Pull the set pieces down To Vaporland Caught up in the waterfall Lured in and seduced along the way Now where's your wherewithal? How did black and white turn into gray? Skeletons on their knees Look for skeleton keys In Vaporland

No words, no story No one can say it all You want satori? Look for the spark Glow in the dark With secret light Shine like a star Glow in the dark With secret light Light on No mouth, no mantra No tongue could tell it all You want Valhalla? Look for the spark Glow in the dark With secret light Shine like a star Glow in the dark With secret light Just how far gone could you have been When every door leaves further in? No cure, No manna No one can lay it out You want Nirvana? Look for the spark Glow in the dark With secret light Shine like a star Glow in the dark With secret light Light on

Amazing 04:17
When I was lost in my own head Fragile and dangling by a thread Waiting to drop once and for all When I was too far gone to see Anything higher up than me Somehow I never seemed to fall And when I came around I stood there looking down, way down It was amazing Amazing When I'm so high I can't control That there was any pain at all Feeling like nothing can go wrong When I was too high up to see Anything looming under me Somehow it never lasted long And when I came around I looked up from the ground, and those clouds Were amazing Amazing Now you can't believe anything 'Cause you're chained to what's happening And you don't really see it at all When I'm about to slip away When I've got one foot in my grave I don't believe I'll be afraid 'Cause when I come around I'll lay there looking out, no doubt So amazing Amazing

about

I recorded this solo album in Los Angeles, circa 2000, not long after my band Uncle Green reached a stalemate with its then-unreleased Rycopa album. The album was funded by EMI publishing and includes veteran pros like Pete Thomas (drummer, Elvis Costello and the Attractions), Rami Jaffe (keyboard player, The Wallflowers, Foo Fighters), and Dan McCarroll (drummer, The Greys, current music business big wig). The album was produced by Rick Neigher and Matt Brown.

I played everything else on the album myself.

This album exists on CD in a limited edition of 100 copies, but has otherwise been unavailable up till now.
