lyrics

Well, I woke up this morning with my temperature risen to 105
So I so a physician who did everything possible to keep me alive
Using crazy devices that I'd never seen
He managed to make me a new kind of being
When I went back to my wife and kids, I was unrecognizable

Well, I looked in the mirror, but the face staring back at me was quite a surprise
I could vaguely distinguish what was all pixelated in my digital eye
So I picked up a pen, wrote my name on a pad
My mechanics were shaky and my penmanship bad
When I looked at what I'd written down, it was unrecognizable

But in time all my limbs will be more reliable
And my flesh will be wholly machine-wash-and-dryable

It was late on a Friday when my friend hit the skyway in an old junky car
Going 90 an hour he was totally out-powered by a shooting star
He was laid out in parts in a dusty garage
He looked like a phantom of his former mirage
He's the last one in my circle of friends to be unrecognizable
